Harm Reduction Essentials: What Every Explorer Should Know

Harm reduction is not about encouraging or discouraging use — it is about ensuring that those who choose to explore do so as safely as possible.

Key principles:

1. Test everything. Reagent testing kits are inexpensive and can identify adulterants that pose genuine health risks.

2. Start low, go slow. Especially with new substances or new batches, begin with a lower dose than you think you need.

3. Set and setting. Your mindset and physical environment dramatically influence your experience.

4. Have a sitter. Someone sober and trusted who can provide reassurance and practical support.

5. Integration. The experience itself is only half the journey. Integration — reflecting on and applying insights — is where lasting change happens.
